He was probably just being friendly, and you probably don't have much of a chance with him. He may just naturally be a flirty person, and you misread his interest in you. From the sounds of it, he didn't ask you out, and he didn't hide the fact that he's in an relationship, so why would you think you'll end up dating him soon?
