Yes you can remove followers from twitter.

First you need to login, then go to people how follow you, select the one you want to remove. One you click the person who is following you from your twitter account (you can find in the right panel just below your profile); you will go to the person profile, just below the person who follow you you will find green button with follow and two drop down button on the right; rightmost drop down button has three options block the user, you can block the user from here and the person can no more follow you.
