WDYT of the name Charlie?
I love the name Charlie for my little boy and it's the name I'm leaning most towards.. Although I do have some back up names, just incase he doesn't suit the name Charlie.
I really dislike the name Charles though, it sounds too dated and stuffy. It also doesn't sound right with the middle name I've chosen either, "Charles James" whereas "Charlie James" flows so much better as there isn't two strong S sounds. He'd never go by Charles, he'd only ever go by Charlie or CJ .. I've seen lots of people say you shouldn't put nicknames on birth certificates, but it wouldn't be a nickname.. And I've also seen lots of people say that Charlie wouldn't suit a grown man etc. And that it would affect job prospects.. One example I've had was that if he was to be a doctor, which in my opinion is stupid.. He wouldn't go by Dr Charlie, he'd go by Dr Baker. And said that they wouldn't trust someone called Charlie, yet there are kids now walking around with the name Kenzie, which is more appropriate than Charlie? I don't understand. Basically I just wanted your opinions on the matter, there are some ridiculous names nowadays, I heard someone had called their child "Hashtag" and "Facebook"! Yet people are slating the name Charlie which is a lovely name? My great grandad was called Charlie, I think his name was actually Charles but no one ever called him Charles, always Charlie. Thanks! Oh, I'm from England by the way! Charlie is a very popular name here, it's definitely more popular than Charles, so it's not like he'd be the only Charlie, someone's going to have to employ a Charlie Ads |
