First build up your sites so that they show lots of traffic and followers and fans (for Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram or whatever) and look popular. Then do a press release about something popular in the news that people will want to read. A headline like: "What is the Next Big Thing in Social Media for 2014?" will make people want to read it and follow you. You can get all this done at a publicity company. See the link below for a place that is good and cheap.
