Can someone like me start taking dance?

I'm 26, slightly overweight and not particularly flexible, and never seriously taken dance before.

I've wanted to try ballet or modern dance for years but always thought I didn't have the body for it.

There's beginners adult classes offered at a local institution, but from their Facebook page, all of the students look like young, fit, 18 y/o girls. I fear I'd humiliate myself. Is it too late?
Yes. It would just be for personal enrichment.
