YouTube alternative *without* ads?
Myself (like many others), are going tired of Youtube, as it continues to grow away from its grassroots beginnings, and morphing into yet another extension of the corporate media. I'm looking for a site like what Youtube *used* to be like several years ago. Mainly, a site where the videos are homemade, and receive prominence by being collectively 'voted up', instead of any video created by those who are 'partners'. Where ads on videos are minimal, if not non-existent.

With all the Youtube clones out there, I'm sure there has to be at least one that fits the bill, but I've yet to discover it. Links would be great, thanks!
About Adblock Plus - I had it, I loved it.. and I had to get rid of it in order to watch youtube videos. Unless something has changed very recently, or there is some sort of configuration I don't know about (and I did some googling on the subject)... Youtube managed to make adblock+ useless by causing videos not to load properly while its running. Still, the ads are only part of the problem, even if Adblock+ still worked.
Stephen,

Although you clearly get pleasure in acting smug, I’ll assure you I’m well aware of economics 101. As I’ve already stated, adblockers themselves get blocked on Youtube (at least in my recent experience). Also, if you bothered to pay attention, the ads aren't the only thing driving me away from Youtube. I don’t post videos, so your petty insult is moot. If you knew anything about how the partner system actually works (and I assure you, you don’t) you wouldn't have made your ignorant statements.

"I'm sorry if 15 seconds (max) is too much for you to handle! I go back to my original statement, grow up."

And I’m sorry you couldn’t be bothered to put more than 15 seconds worth of thought into your worthless rambling of an answer. Next time, before you childishly tell others to ‘grow up’ for asking a legitimate question, you might want to consider growing up yourself. Your response shows you have a lot of it in front of you, good-day.
