Typically, EMD's are related to the keyword for which you are trying to rank for in the search engines. I have always had success with EMD's, so as far as im concerned, it's good. Basically, to have the keyword your trying to rank for directly in the domain name, it helps your ranking, and gives your site more relevancy regarding that keyword.

I have had brand new sites with no backlinks, and only the keyword in the domain name and optimized on the page itself that outranked a lot of other sites in the SERPs.
