I did. I guess I downloaded a movie before it was even released in theaters. It also wasn't put in a zip file. They knew everything about the file I downloaded. I think that it was because it wasn't stored in a .zip that it was suspicious.
Apparently there is a three strike policy. Two warnings and then they fine/disconnect you. PS Paramount Pictures can suck my d***. I bet they uploaded the video so they could threaten me with a $250,000 lawsuit. If the file is enclosed in a generic .zip folder, then they probably wouldn't know its contents. That's why most things you download that way are .zip. The one I got a phone call about was the name of the movie followed by .mkv. Hindsight, that would seem really suspicious. With the new laws in place, I no longer download things like that. The government is going after tons of people and fining them upwards of $150,000 per song. There's all sorts of news stories about that. I hope this answers your question. PPS Do you live in an apartment complex with shared WiFi? Or do you have your own network with a password that you set? If it's an open network that many tenants access, then it would be difficult to track it directly to you. Ads |
