Why do some people attack the crusades ?

They did help weaken the muslims. A couple times the did come close to breaking through the gates and rapaging their radical ideas throughout the West...however they were defeated at the Battles of Lepanto, Vienna, and the Second Battle of Vienna. These great victories by the Catholics ensured that the Turks would stay in the balkans and go no further.

The Crusades were not necessarily about religion--the Catholics of Europe wanted to trade with the land in the middle east, and gain lots of profit off of it. Well, the muslims dont want to trade. So, the Pope comes up with this great idea of a "Crusade". The Crusades have truly changed history, for the better, in my oppinion.

Today the muslim countries in Arabia and the Middle East pose absolutely no threat. Yeah, they can ram planes into buildings, but really....thats about it. its not like they are going to launch a massive offensive invasion against America or Europe...thats just not going to happen. If it does it will fail epicly. Europe and America, the civilised world, is just too technologically advanced for muslims to do anything to them.
