Social Security should be HUGE?

The whole country loves to whine that if they had invested the same amount of money in the stock market, they'd be rich.

1. Only have of the money was yours. The employer's contribution paid for other people.
2. Those historical averages of 10% are a joke. Nobody I know has ever achieved that.
3. SSA is not a retirement plan. It's a safety net. It pays great for people who don't work enough to actually have retirement money. Work 10 years, collect for the rest of your life. What a deal.
