My parents won't let me have a facebook?

Hello hello.
I'm 13 and I'd like a facebook.. quite badly.

Literally everyone at my school has one, and apparently facebook is where people learn about everything. Something huge will happen and my friends will be talking about it and I'll be like "What are you guys talking about??" and they'll be like "Didn't you see it on facebook?"

My parents won't let me have one though.

And the weird thing is, my mom has one and is alwayyyys on it.
Since she has one she's not worried about the privacy or anything, but she's worried that I'll become addicted.

Unfortuneately, my brother is addicted, so they always use that as an example for me not to get one.

I even wrote my mom this big email with so many reasonable and good points:
I offered to have a time limit,
I offered to put everything on private,
I gave good points like I could keep in touch with my friends from my old school, make better friends with some people at my new school, and that I can show everyone my interests and likes without being awkward.

She was really impressed by the email, said she'll think about it, but she still conclueded with a no.

It would just be so much easier to have one.

And it's so annoying because I always tell her that my brother got a myspace (which is way worse than facebook) when he was like 11, and I'm 13 and I can't have a facebook??
Whenever I tell her that she always just says "Oh that was a huge mistake by us for letting him get one."

And also I can show people that I have a sense of humor and my personality is not bad. I mean I'm not bullied or anything, I have friends. It's just that there are these hoes at my school who don't really disrespect me, they just act like "they don't have time for me" in a subtle, indirect way. So I
kind of want to show them that I actually am really fun and funny to be around.
Regardless, that's not the main reason why I want a facebook account. It would be agreeable though.

Ahhh.
I want one so, so badly.

And please don't say "Oh I can see why you're not allowed" or something ill-mannered.
I'm obviously not going to choose you as best answer, so don't waste your energy+time.

So does anyone have any tips?
