URGENT : How do you set privacy settings on friends on Facebook?

I play Mafia Wars and I needed some "family members/neighbors" on Facebook, so I added random strangers who play the game. However, I do not want them to know or see my status updates, real friends, information, pictures etc. etc, but I want to see their updates. I don't really want to see anything though, except for like the freebies they give out. For example, somebody could level up and post something on their wall which gives out a bonus to their friends. Is there a way to "block" some friends (through privacy concerns), without deleting them, yet still remain friends on Facebook (while leeching on them )? Thanks.
