Youtube Channel promotion?

I've recently started a Youtube gaming channel, but I'm unsure of the best way to approach promoting myself and growing a larger audience. I've signed up to Twitter but I'm fairly new to that too and am again unsure on the best way to approach that for promotion ect. Are there any good Facebook groups or things like that which would be worth joining? Any good websites that I should join?

I've also read that networking with other channels is a good thing to do, but how do you identify which channels to approach with this in mind?
