I have an iPhone 4S and i would defo recommend it! You can download all the apps needed(School related/Non related) It is like a little planner! You can keep everything on it and set reminders ect.. My cousin had a Nokia Lumia and was not impressed with it at all, she bought it (brand new) Very slow and always froze! And lots of other problems! But the iPhone 4S is one of the best phones i have had and i don't even want a new one! I love this phone! Best one i have ever had!
