1) Try to find empowering media, and avoid unhelpful media like fashion magazines and certain shows/movies.

2) Do a little sociology research; they surely don't realize all the ways they're being manipulated.

3) Constantly self-check: thoughts? motivations? assumptions? actions? habits?

4) Remember that most media sources have the bottom line as their top priority. What do advertisers want you to think?

5) Advertisers need your attention; they will exaggerate anything, create excitement (positive or negative), show whatever makes people want to keep watching.

6) It behooves the media to be friends with whichever part of the government is in power, and have manipulated wars and policy throughout history.

I'm not saying that "the media" (generalization, duh) is *evil* r anything; it's totally necessary, inevitable, and more useful than harmful. I'm just talking about manipulation.
