There are 2 steps to take:
1.Educate yourself on what’s t rue and what’s false. Social media succeeds in manipulating us because we still chase after false values it instills in us - individualism, exaggerated sense of self-importance, over-indulgence, etc. These are false things to pursue because they contradict order of thing arranged by Nature. Nature’s principal of existence is equilibrium. Social media attempts to manipulate us and values it promotes are in conflict with Nature and are unsustainable. Understanding it resolves 50% of the problem. 2.Expose yourself to the influence of much stronger environment. It’s not enough to simply distant yourself from bad influence. You also need consciously expose yourself to the influence of environment promoting different values. If this environment preaches and practices values of mutuality, acceptance and support (as intended by Nature), being exposed to it even 1 hour a day, will protect you from being so easily manipulated by the media. This is another 50% Community of people represented by site below is trying to do precisely that. Brows it if you have time. Hopefully it resonates with you. All the best! http://www.mutualresponsibility.org/ |
