What on earth is "Sin cola"?

This is a common tricke Spanish people play on kids. We make them look up by saying "Mira un pajarito sin cola" ("look for a bird without a tail") and when they look up, we tickle their throats and say: "mamola, mamola, mamola" (I actually don't know if "mamola" exists as a word or it is just used as a rhyme.
