how to add facebook like button?

ok i want to add a facebook like button and i cant figure out how to do it. i know i go to facebook developers and i add my url and what not, then when i get the codes what do i do? do i add both codes? where do i paste the codes? i tryed to paste them in my favorite quotations cell but when i view my profile it doesnt\t show up it just shows the code. i watched many youtube videos and read articles on this and i still cant figure it out. can you please help me? thank you!
