What’s better “Myspace” or “Facebook”?

What's Myspace? Seriously - I have no interest, though I did have some idea.

I used email to keep in touch with friends, and then I started microblogging with Twitter, and quickly switched to use Identi.ca - now when I post on Identi.ca it goes out on multiple networks (including Twitter and Facebook).

Facebook now adjusted itself - it is primarily a place to keep updated, so when I send dents out on Identi.ca they are posted on Facebook.

Facebook also has 'chat'. I log in with my google ID using Pidgin messenger - when people log in to Facebook, they can message me on my instant messenger using Facebook Chat (XMPP protocol - not closed like MSN or Yahoo) which is really cool and means you don't have to be logged into facebook page to use it.

This means my friends know when I'm online, not just when I'm logged into Facebook - but you have to take care of your privacy, that's not much of a problem. I'd suggest not using too many real details in Facebook - or create two profiles - one for people to search and find you and the other one for you to play facebook. I keep two - one has my real details, and the other is a Rat wearing a helmet - once people found me I add them there and it keeps my activity and my personal life separate.

I can link to anything I'm doing with Facebook - I can be browsign feeds, see something I like, and click to send it as a dent (so anyone following me on identi.ca, or twitter, or Friendfeed, or Facebook gets an update).

Tell me, what's good about Myspace?

Facebook basically is a part of my social connection (I always post things as dents through identi.ca - but wherever I post from, things pop up on my facebook page) and when I log in there, I get a list of updates to see what my friends have been doing, and also notifications of any personal messages.

Facebook changed a fair bit - they have a newer lighter interface.

I think the games are mostly bad - but many people play them. They're hungry for money, they spam you a fair bit (trying to encourage you to use real money to get stuff - stuff you can't get without paying) and they're designed to be played with your contacts (spread the spam) - avoid games, they spam everyone's homepage (Wall) with lots and lots of updates... not good.
