As far as asking for prayers... Unless they have issues with their religious differences and she were intentionally trying to mock or insult, I'd take it for the kindness and concern that was intended... The religious aspect is irrelevant... She's asking people to wish her sister well in the way she feels will work! What's the harm in that?
As far as the personal information and details... Not cool without asking first. Even though it probably went over her head to ask if your mother minded. She meant well for her sister.. I would *privately let her know that that I understood the attempt at a kind gesture, but giving out others' personal information without their permission isn't for her to do... family member or not.
