Can you convince me to get a smartphone?

I have an old fashioned brick of a mobile phone. I got as far as camera phones. Now I kind of feel that technology is leaving me behind and I am thinking about getting a smartphone. I do not spend my life on the internet and consider facebook a waste of time for the most part. Does somebody like me really benefit from a smartphone? What is the hype all about? Sure, I would love the quality of photo or videos that they provide, but is that reason enough?? Your experiences appreciated!
