Transcription is a legitimate work-at-home opportunity if you have good grammar, punctuation and spelling. For general transcription, no specific education is required. For medical transcription, you need to complete an education program specific to the industry. You may have to invest in equipment and software to send/receive audio files and control sound with a foot pedal, but a legitimate opportunity will not charge you to work for them. Transcription pay is on a production basis for almost all work-at-home situations.
