Did the Republicans lose the election because they?
made the whole thing about defeating the President instead of presenting a well defined set of plans, policies and solutions?

From the time of the Obama inauguration, the GOP openly stated that their aim was to make Obama a one term president. Could this have backfired?

Instead of allowing a true visionary figure to naturally emerge that could have captivated audiences with his ideas, they seemed to have simply searched for the candidate who seemed most able to defeat Obama. Thus, it never seemed that the GOP was looking for a way to implement a plan for America.

Instead of looking for a candidate who would win the Presidency (and the future), they nominated a man they thought could defeat Obama. Could it have been the problem of the party that left Romney with nothing particularly inspiring to present?
