Why are celebrities so mean?

Some have these high reputations, but then you find yourself having to pose as some happy go lucky good looking dude just to get any sort of reply, acknowledgement, for your praise.

And not just celebrities. For example, I'm an unattractive 33 year old virgin & I'm bullied/mocked a lot. Point is, as soon as you open up about these things, say on some blog or your own twitter, nobody wants to talk to you anymore. All replies cease.
But I am a failure lol
I mean is the truth not better than a lie? And should that not make me more trustworthy? I bet lots of people online pretend to be people they are not
