i took a history class on this and there is a lot of confusion about this. historically, jewish people were considered an ethnic group with no home country, which was the catalyst for the zionist movement. there are people of many different ethnic backgrounds who are jewish today, but anybody who says there is no jewish ethnicity is misinformed.
