That is really exceptional, if you were paying someone based on viewership I would say downright suspicious, there are services providing robot generated traffic just to pad the stats. More typically a stand-along blog may see no visitors until indexed in the search engines, then more like 10 visitors a day at first.

Don't know your situation, like whether you have any server logs to examine, you can paste in a line or 2 of code that would enable you to see the country of origin, length of stay statistics, etc. Google Analytics and the simple Statcounter would help you learn more about your visitors.
