What would be a good response to this?
Right...so, I am a huge fan of a certain sports team. I follow some members of said team on Twitter. Yesterday, one of them followed me back and then sent me a direct message. The first couple of messages were pretty simple i.e. "hey, how are you?" A couple of messages later, the athlete sent a message that said something to the effect of "wanna meet up?" I admit to being a little bit flabbergasted. I live over 2 1/2 hours away from the city in which the sports team is located, so "meeting up" probably isn't much of an option.
The bottom line is: I'm sure the athlete is a lovely person, but I cannot see to drive 2 1/2 hours to meet someone that I have exchanged a handful of messages with. So, what would be a good, non-rude way of saying that in a message? I just need some ideas as to some ways to politely decline. =P Ads |
