How come adults don't seem to see the social part of school?

Adults seem to forget everything they experience as a kid, and they think the work is "easier" on us. They forget about school, and all the social stuff, well, when you go to college, or even higher in highschool, people let go of that childish "nerd/popular/jock, etc" mentality, and focus on succeeding.
