Best thing is probably to meet him some where on a mutual grounds like store, restaurant, cafe, park. and just tell him that your not happy anymore and you are different but would like to remain friends if possible. ( or not ) its the best way to do it. that's what i didn't with my relationship of 3 years. I knew him from 2 grade and we had a kid together. and i finally just told him i wasn't happy anymore. and we are nice to each other and still are friends.
