Radio frequency radiation like those associated with cellular telephones, wi-fi signals, or blue tooth signals can *NOT* cause damage to your DNA sufficient to induce cancer. The energy in the signals is not sufficient to break any chemical bonds. Think of it like having somebody throw a rock at you made out of styrofoam. Yes, it will hit you, but it will do no damage. You could be hit with styrofoam rocks all day every day and it won't hurt you.
Turning off wifi will only turn off the wifi signals from your phone. If you are in a house with a wireless router, you will still be subjected to those waves unless you turn off the router, too. Your phone also emits cellular radio frequencies and possibly blue tooth frequencies (if you have blue tooth turned on). If you engage "airplane mode", all radio transmissions are turned off. |
