Can anyone recommend a good tablet for kids?

I bought the Meep! for my daughter, opened it up Christmas Day, couldn't connect to their servers to change any of the parental controls so apart from the angry birds game (and a few others pre-installed) she was pretty disinterested, i decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, after 4-5 days they had fixed most of their server problems and I continued to install apps from google play and bought a memory card so I could put some music and videos on there for her! Still not 100% working it was a lot more usable for her so I finally handed it over and let her play, within a few hours the power button broke and will no longer turn on at all! And I'm not the only one this has happened to (as detailed on their Facebook page).

Whilst it was working here were a few of the other bad points I noted:

Although the parent suggested website list was a good idea, the lack of flash renders most kids sites useless (I know this will change as more sites switch to HTML 5) flash can be installed but the instructions are written by another user posted on the Meep! Facebook page (not Meep!'s website) and its quite a tiresome process

The user interface is not the most intuitive; my daughter is used to stealing mine and the wife's iPhone's or grandparents iPads so the scroll wheel icons on the left is a lot let user friendly than a screen full of icons

Anyway this is only my own experience and I do feel a little disappointed with the gadget as I thought it would be the answer to my always missing iPhone!

I'm now at an impasse myself as what to replace it with because the Nabi 2 which was my other (more expensive) choice has apparently had many similar issues
