The best advice I can give you, since you are of an age where your parents are in control of such things, and are obviously looking out for your best interest, and to protect you is the following.

Sit down with them, and explain not only that you want to open a facebook account, but WHY. Explain that you want to maintain contact with friends that you would otherwise not speak with very often.

Ask them their reasons for not letting you open an account, and reason with them, explaining, in detail, how you can, or feel you can overcome those issues. Lastly, promise them that if a real problem arises, you won't hide it, but come to them for help. Show your maturity, and willingness to work with them. This may help you to get what you want, and them to trust you more.
