Because there are alot of prudish people out there who would refuse to use sites that have porn on them. So yeah, it's a taboo, basically.

But it's also worth noting that not all big forbid sexual content. Twitter allows porn. Amazon and Netlfix both sell/rent adult-only (NC-17) movies. Google does allow adult content on some of its services, so does Yahoo. Even eBay allows adult only items, albeit with major restrictions.
