Man saying happy birthday is an excuse for people to say i love you. i think your first step to getting over this is to stop thinking about it. Dude i was held back a year as well. I moved in between grades and took 1st year over again. big woop. nothing to be ashamed about. be happy and celebrate your birthday. be someone everyone can enjoy being around. someone is surprised about you age because you keep it secret. let everyone know and you'll really notice how no one gives 2 fucks how old you are.
