Contact your local citizens advice bureau. Then trading standards and Craigslist about this seller. Keep all proof of all contact you made with him, surely he gave you a receipt for your purchase? You'll need that too. It may end going to small claims court, you'll need all of this, everything, and you will have to give him written notice that you want a refund. In the formal notice letter (formal notice needs to be written format) you nees to say what what you purchased, how much, that it was faulty and false advertising. You then need to give him some timespan of sending you a refund, usually 28 days. Also say if he doesn't contact you or give you your refund after the 28 days from the date of the letter is up, then you can take him to small claims court to recover the money. Keep photocopies of this and give one to the CAB you're under. If you do not give him formal notice, your case will either be dismissed or you will be penalised. It costs a bit of money to take him to small claims, so you need to judge if it'll be worth it. Look up the costs on the HM courts and tribunals service (ministry of justice) website and make your decision. You need to exhaust all other channels of trying to get a refund first though. Mediation is also an option. Ask your CAB for more details on that. Hope this helps. Good luck Smile
