Please help me understand this boy...?!?

I love a boy since over 3 years now.He is really friendly with me and flirts with me too.He also likes my every profile picture on Facebook.Till recently,he always kept asking me whom I had a crush on.Last month,I finally told him that i liked him and made it clear that it was just a confession,not anything else.He wasn't surprised,I guessed I kinda used to make it obvious from my behaviour.I did not ask him what he felt about me.And after that,I never pursued the subject again as I didnt want to seem desperate.I thought his behaviour would change after that,but its not so.And he still flirts with me and gives me compliments.Why?Does he like me and does not want to tell me because he is popular and I am not?Or something like that?He has even complimented me hundreds of times on my looks.I don't understand him at all.Or is he just making me not feel awkward?Guys,please help me.

He likes you but not wanting a relationship that's very intense. He dosent want it to be more than it is . He smart he knows he dosent want a relationship. He is happy with his life as it is . Be nice to him and maybe in a few years when he ready he might want more .

i think 3 years is more than enough for knowing that he loves you or not. And as you said you told him that you likes him but his behaviour is still same as before and he continue flirting with you, its mean he does not loves you. As he like your all pic on facebook and always gives you compliment its may be or may not be happens in love but in filrting its surely happens. So if someone always admire you that does not only mean that he or she loves you any other reason can also hide behind this.
ultimately i can say that boy does not loves you because in love you cannot always get compliment.
Love is a sweet feelings of affinity.
However, you can check it by your own way.
