Is it safe to to give permission for commercial firms to access my facebook info?
Hi, I am a guy and single.

So, when I created a facebook account recently and I see so many ads for meeting single girls in the right side of my face book profile page every time, I am tempted to click them.

But, when I click these links, I am asked to give permission to allow them to access my basic information. So is it safe to give the permission? Will my fb account be in jeapordy if I give the permission?

Thanks a lot and God bless you!

Regards,

Sreejish
Thanks a lot para

Ok. Suppose I give permission to one firm just out of curiosity or as an experiment and consequently they spam a lot. In that case, can I block the posts from that account later, if I wish so?
I am speaking about link like one below:

@ Triple A. Thanks a lot. I will surely vote your answer as the best one if none else gives a better answer.

But, LOL at present this info is useless as my account is not accessible due to a technical issue (I posted another question regarding that)

You'd better NOT give permission if you want to avoid spamming your fb wall with "dating" sites' advertisements - these are usually filled with fake accounts of "single" girls and are asking for "membership" after a pretty short "trial" period. None of the girls you'll find there are either single, or girls, or even real persons.

True you can't believe every site, however if you do click on those ad's some reroute you to their site. Those that ask for info from your profile, are mainly making it easier to find someone that matches that criteria. Your profile is not in jeopardy of being hacked or spammed. I know by experience because I click on those ad's myself, and so far nothing has happen (knock on wood lol). As long as you don't like the ad's, they will not show up on your wall/profile. If by some chance they do show up on your wall page, it is very possible to block them.

btw: "Are You Interested" is not a decent site it mostly hooks you up with other people that have facebook accounts, and by my opinion really sucks lol. The matching system is not as good as one would think. But I'm just throwing it out there.

I hope this is the answer your looking for.
