Two things:
How do I make a picture have a white background instead of a black when the photo is smaller than the picture box? Like a thick white space, picture and white space again instead of the whole picture in the square?

And also how do you take a picture, and put it got next to the same exact picture just flipped?

I'm really not sure what you mean by the first one. Sorry.
As for the second, I believe it's called mirror effect. Some cameras and phones have it, but if not, you can use an online editing website. Maybe this one? http://www.phixr.com/

You could probably google "free photo editing software" and find one that would do that, too.
