If you block someone they will know because you wont show up anywere on fb. on there friends fb's, in the comments, in the search no were. if you decline a friend request they might know. because if you decline it. it allows them to send a knew one.

|
blocked is not really the right word to use.... it works like this
you send someone a friend request, and that person denies it, they are then asked if they know you outside of facebook - if they click on "no" then your "add to friends" button is permanently hidden from you |
