How did I get 1,205 viruses on my computer?

Cause my friend is working on my computer and he said there was 1,205 viruses. I only visited youtube,twitter,facebook,tumblr,and google

Its pretty common for people who aren't well versed in the ways of the internet to get viruses / malware on a regular basis.

Doesn't matter if you only visited those sites.
You may have AVG , Kapersky ..this kind of stuff to protect your computer!!

Most of these may not actually be viruses but items such as cookies stored in the web browser's cache that are causing the virus scanner to flag them as "bad".

Some viruses can install without the user needing to do anything. Just by visiting a comprised or infected webpage you could get infected. This is why it's so important to use up to date anti-virus if you don't have any already installed I'd recommend Avast free.

If you had that many viruses on your computer it would of quit working a long time ago. You don't.

Your friend is either exaggerating or has misinterpreted the results of the scanning tools he's used (which themselves may be exaggerating).

1) this can be fixed. here are the steps you should do.


2) go to this webpage and download the installer for the program "malwarebytes anti-malware."

3) run the installer.

4 run the malwarebytes program.

5) when it finishes you should see a button which says "show results"

6) view results, then select all items in list, and press "remove selected."

7) your computer may very probably be fine after that.

If you need further anti-virus help, you can also download KApersky TDSSkiller from cnet. another good program to download from cnet is "superantispyware."
