Is it alright to ask a girl who said she is 'kinda seeing someone' to meet up as friends?

I told the girl I liked her over Facebook and she replied saying she is 'kinda seeing someone else'. Yet she every time posts a smily face on all replies to me. I also asked that if we go to different universities that we can still meet up and she said yes. Im thinking of meeting up with her but am not sure if its alright given I told her I liked her and she said she is kinda seeing someone else. Im also thinking of telling her that she can invite her friend who I am friends with also so it doesn't feel uncomfortable for her to be with just me. Is it alright to ask her to meet up and to say that she can invite her friend if she wants too.

Please don't say she doesn't like me. Given that i've spoken to her over Facebook, she seems to be wanting to know more about me and sends smilies on all replies, gives me the idea that she has feelings for me but not more than friends. I should also add that she said she values the friendship I have with her.

it is perfectly fine for you guys to meet up as friends, you dont have to invite your friend to come along but if it helps ease the mood then yeah go for it. People are allowed to see/have friends of the opposite sex when they are seeing someone. She has made it clear that she sees you as a friend, so why cant you guys just hang out?
