Can you completely delete / get rid of a Facebook account ?
I have had it up to here so to speak with Facebook , i wish it was never invented lol , can i completely delete my account for good and banish it to the depths of hell never having access to it again ?
Jessie K can you completely get rid of it then . I know how you can do what you are saying , i just want it completely gone for good ?
How long does it take to be completely wiped out , deleted ?
Ren whats the timeframe any idea ? thanks

Go to the Account tab > Account Settings > Settings tab > and Deactivate Account at the bottom.

Yes. You can deactivate it by going to account settings. It gives you a time frame to change your mind afterwards, but if you leave it, it will delete it.

log on - top right corner go to 'my account' then to 'account settings' then to 'deactivate account'

Yes you actually can't delete your account only deactivate it.

It's something to do with you opening multiple accounts on one IP address.

I only had it for a week and got fed up with it after a week with all the rubbish posted on it.

All I did was remove everything from my account and then deactivated it.

Never been back since and that was over three years ago!

There are two different delete options available. One allows you the chance to reactivate it, the other deletes it completely. You need to make sure you choose the correct option.
