What's the best way for someone with very limited experience in public affairs and government to get involved in the local community on a part-time basis (nights, weekends only - I have a full time job). I work in marketing and finance, am a pretty quantitative guy, and am particularly interested in education, commerce, and transportation/operations. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Look for volunteer opportunities in your community. This may include volunteering with a local social service agency or serving on a local citizen's advisory committee or commission.

First you need to be Kenyan. Then become a community organizer. The rest is easy.

Become active and volunteer in the political party you feel most represents you stance on the things you're interested in.
