What is the point of Twitter?

I made a twitter account just to see what it was, but I don't understand it. Someone please explain it to me...

Idk either, I made one but I had probelms customizing my profile and stuff due to bugs on their system. I got frustrated and quit, but I do know it is good when you are on a trip to keep your family and friends back home updated.

The way I see the media trying so hard to push and sell this website onto the American public raises concerns to me.

I have purposely never gone to the website simply because seeing that word everywhere on television and online annoys the hell out of me so much so that I refuse to take part in it.

It seems almost cult-like that it scares me---and the media harping and pushing it onto everyone seems a bit scary and desperate.

"Follow us on Twitter!"......Um, no...I don't think so....

I personally think it's no more than a clever way for the media to get our information, subconsciously market to the public and brainwash us under the guise of a "social networking website".

I for one am not fooled and proudly refuse to ever "Tweet"!
