In general there are a host of websites that offer free general marketing advice. The advice is usually high level and not product specific. For example yahoo.com and about.com offer free marketing advice which is helpful to get you started. In my opinion there are three major factors in marketing. 1. Create a desire or need for your product. For example, if you are starting a website, why should people visit your website? 2. Get the message out in as many ways as possible, without becoming a nuance. There are several good outlets like facebook, google buzz, twitter, etc where you can post you marketing messages for free. 3. Deliver what you promise. If you have a product make sure it meets the expectations that you create with your marketing pitch. For example, if you are starting a website ensure it contains current, relevant, and accurate information. Market is a difficult job and the trick is to create interest in your product. A good way to start is to examine the marketing strategies and avenues of your competitors, then tweak the the strategies to meet your requirements. Good luck The PracticaL Mentor
