Is there more eneregy during you astrilogical sign period?
Yesterday was my birthday and it turned out to be what I thought a very unusual day.

Friends, even acquaintances that normally do not contact me wished me a very happy birthday. Yes this is normal on a persons birthday and a few of those individuals were provided my birthday information on Facebook- yet several had no notification as we were not connected via Facebook.

OK I can write all this and a few other positive things that I will not mention here as a coincidence. Yet, I went to the store in the morning yesterday and it was like I was a people magnetic- was in conversations with people as workers, not friends, as to where it was hard to leave- some of the people in the store were smiling and wanted to talk-unlike any other time with not just simple remarks as "hi how are you?".

Well maybe everything that happened "was" a coincidence however what I consider as positive periods have happened quite a few times to me over the years. I just wrote them off as having good days and bad days and nothing more. A few years ago a girlfriend I was seeing looked at me like "what, you did not know" and said,"of course you are having a positive period around your birthday".

What I want to know-- is there something I should do to explore this or gain insight into money matters, companionship, health etc. during this period. Are there other periods of time I should be concerned with- any insight on this--please advise.

Definitely.. It's called a Solar return also... In reference to the sun sign returning to your sun sign and its degrees

In transits the sun conjuncts and later cazimis Your sun sign and its degrees

On your birthday, Sun moves over the same spot if was when you were born.
This is called, "Transiting Sun conjunct Natal Sun" ("conjunct" is one of the aspects/distances ... a conjunct aspect is when there is zero-degrees of distance between where two things are).

Transits occur when any of the 10 "planets" now in the sky move into an aspect-position with any of your 10 natal planets (where these planets were when YOU were born).

The Transit of Sun to Sun indicates that this is day when you feel whole, complete, in the spot-light. Your ego is in good shape on this day.
Unless there are other negative transiting aspects also happening on the same day, in which case your birthday can be disappointing. Or if your own Sun, in your birthchart, has a lot of limitations through aspects with other planets at the time you were born.

No, the transit of Sun to Sun gives no insight into money matters, companionship, health, etc. The period of Sun conjunct Sun lasts only about 8 days, but is really only strong within a day of your actual birthday.

The faster a transit is, the weaker its effect is. Some transits, such as the transit of Pluto, last 3 years. Now that is a strong influence. But Sun is only about a week .. and that is a very weak influence.

Also, each planet represents a different part of your inner personality, and transits TO a particular planet will affect that particular part of your personality. For instance, Sun is how you feel about yourself .. your ego, your sense of self-fulfillment. Nothing else.

And transits through a particular house indicate influences on whatever area of life that house represents.
For instance, the 2nd house is the house of money.
Venus us how you relate to other people, while the 5th is romance and the 7th is marriage.

As far as going to the store and people responding to you .. understand that when YOU feel better about yourself (as with a Sun conjunct Sun transit), other people will respond to you differently. How we are, inside, creates much of what happens to us, especially how others treat us.
Astrology shows the influence on what goes on inside us, and is not that good at predicting outer circumstances or events. But because WE influence what happens to us .. either consciously, or unconsciously through how we are feeling, astrology can indicate some possible outer circumstances (caused by us).

If you want to use transits you have to start off with your timed birth chart.
You need to learn how to find aspect-distances, and track the current movement of planets through the zodiac signs (you would use a table of positions called an "ephemeris" and they have these online).
You would need to know the various symbols, since the ephemeris lists use symbols, not words.
And you would have to use a book for reference about what the different transiting aspects/planets indicate. I recommend "Planets in Transit" by Robert Hand.
But with years of experience, observing transits operating in your own life and in the lives of those close to you .. you would eventually understand them and no longer need to use a book for interpretation.
Even then, understand that we are talking about influences .. not controlling factors.
Transits are best used for timing, and for understanding what's going on inside of ourselves.

As the other answerer indicated, some astrologer use Solar Returns. These are timed charts drawn up for the EXACT time that the transiting Sun returns to its location at the time you were born.
A Solar Return chart is done up not for where you were born, but for where you live at the time of your Solar Return.
It is said to indicate the trends and influences for this particular birthday year, but after using them for 20 years in my astrological counselling, I found that they just don't give much useful information. I DO know one colleague who swears by them, but most astrologers don't pay them much attention. The long-term transits are far more noticeable on our inner realities, and Solar Arc Directions are the most reliable for event prediction (although even there, they are better about the MOOD of what happens than the actual event). I no longer use Solar Returns, even though I have tried many various techniques of using them, I have not found any that are useful.
