photography: facebook page?
i know its good to have a myspace and facebook page for your photography business but my question is who do you add on them? only people that live in your area or people from all over? the photography that i do is
-landscapes, scenery, clouds etc
-portraits
-weddings

I am trying to get started to make it as a business. i have done one wedding and a few portraits for friends and family but want to start it out as a business and prepare to make it one when im older ( 17.5 right now)

You're talking about a Facebook "Fan" page. You don't add people, they add or "like" you.

When I started mine, I used the Facebook tool to suggest that my friends like it. After they liked it, some of their friends liked it..and it just went on from there.

Do you already have a Facebook profile? A Profile and a Page are 2 different things.

A personal account is what you get when you sign on as a regular user, and create a profile for yourself: an individual.

A Facebook Page, also referred to as a Fan Page, can be seen as a one-stop shop for a particular subject. It's like a web page, and is used as way to promote a particular product or service to Facebook.

If you haven't got a personal profile yet, then create a profile and add people that you know. There is a tool on Facebook that allows you to import all your contacts from your email address list and send out invites to add you on Facebook.

Once that's done, you can create a Fan page.

Once you've created a page, customise it and add some content. You can add anything you want to your Facebook Page but make sure it's relevant to whatever you're trying to promote.

After that you can invite all your contacts to "Like" the page, making them a fan. Ask them to invite everyone on their friends list to do the same.

It takes time to build a fan base, so don't expect miracles straight away. Keep posting relevant and interesting content. If it's a photography related page, then regular posts of photos will be best.

One thing you should keep in mind though, if you want to grow a business, you will need a lot more than just a Facebook page. Use the Facebook page to drive traffic to a blog or website.

Facebook alone is not enough.

Hope that helps.
