Do you think that the national government paying for Research and Development for the automobile industry in?
Germany helps or hinders the growing profitable automobile industry in Germany?

This years budget was 18 billion Euros.

The refer to their economy as a Social Market Economy. They are the 4th largest economy in the world and it is based on export of manufactured goods.

Every government that has a auto-export allows for this. R&D until a auto that reduces carbon emmissions to 00m is the target or electric batteries produced at a cost proof rate. The R&D effect on government is not a bad as it once was in almost every prdoduced item because of protectionism by most nations.

if the question is solely concerned with the Auto companies ,,, then of course it increases profits if the government funds R&D.

Kind of a moot point as profit will always rise if another is pays for the work.
