The guy I like deleted me on facebook?
I'm feeling terrible, two nights ago I added the guy I like on facebook (gay). I have only seen him once in my life and we never talked in person, so when he asked me who I was, I told him I had mistaken him for a guy in one of my classes (Even though he goes to a different college, I just needed an excuse) I tried to be as friendly as I could so as to make him be interested or something.
We kind of talked friendly for a couple of minutes about who we were, then I had to leave and when I checked facebook again, half an hour after our first talk, he had deleted me. I'm feeling so bad now that I know that nothing's gonna happen between us. I know I have to move on and forget him but I just can't.

Well there's nothing we can do except tell you that time heals all wounds and just remember when god closes a door he opens a window.

Please do not confuse anything that happens in cyber-land with real life.

You state you've only seen this guy once in your life and you have NEVER had a conversation in person; those two facts indicate you do not have a genuine connection with this man.

You should take a break from Facebook for a month. Delete all his information on your account and resist the temptation to contact him in any way. Only you can make the decision to move on with your life.

Harry:

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit sad.

Consider this from the OTHER GUY'S point of view for a moment: some strange guy who I've never heard of mistakes me for someone else. We speak briefly about the miscommunication.

At this point, the above is all he really knows about you. Unless you gave him a reason to want to stay in contact with you, deleting you seems to be the natural conclusion to the situation. After all, how many random guys that you don't know do YOU keep in contact with through Facebook?

If you KNOW he's gay, perhaps you can add him again and once that happens try to build something. This isn't the first time someone has used subterfuge to "casually run into" the object of one's affection. But if his "team affiliation" is not crystal clear, you may just want to drop it, otherwise it kind of comes off as a bit stalker-ish.

Rejection is never fun but at least you got up enough courage to add him and chat with him. Good for you! Some people find that difficult to do (I, personally, find that difficult to do...) Don't be too hard on yourself. There are a lot of other fish in the sea.
