why can't i change my profile picture?

I want to change my Y! messenger picture and change my avatar but whenever I want to do this my Y!profile appears and I can't access to avatars.yahoo.com somebody tell me how can i appear my avatar?

For messenger. Right click on your avatar in the messenger window, click choose a picture or browse for an avatar you have saved, from an avatar site like those below.

Yahoo no longer supports the creation of their cartoon avatars, sorry.

You can use a photo avatar or a cartoon avatar from another site, and if you have a Facebook or Twitter account, you can also use those avatars.

Go to: http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/privacy/ - make sure your profile isn't hidden, because if it is, your avatar won't show.

In case you want to use a Facebook or Twitter avatar, you need to link those accounts in the Profile options.

You have several options in case you want a photo avatar:
a) go to your Yahoo! Answers settings at http://answers.yahoo.com/my-activity > click edit my preferences near your current pic > click "Update photo or avatar",
b) go to your Yahoo! Profile at http://profile.yahoo.com/ , click on the current avatar.
Now upload a picture or choose one of the pics you've uploaded previously.

Note: if you are on a mobile, you need to switch to desktop mode first in order for this to work.

At this time you can not make a avatar or upload a picture from a mobile device, perhaps that will change in the future.
For now profile changes must be made from a computer.
Go here , http://profile.yahoo.com top center put the arrow on your avatar or !, click change picture.
From there you can upload a Picture from your computer or import a picture from facebook. When finished click submit on the next page. Sometimes it dose not automatically go back to,

Yahoo Answers did away with their Avatar Maker.
If you want a custom avatar go to one of these sites and make a custom avatar, save it to your computer and upload it as a picture.
